Games & Hobby Products Imports Analysis by Region
We can see that the largest import market for these products is Europe & Central Asia (approximately US$ 15 billion in 2016). Average annual import growth between 2012 and 2016 was about flat in this region. This means entering the market and gaining share would be somewhat difficult. Most other regions have seen declines in year over year import growth. The only region with strong growth has been the Middle East but import volume for this region is fairly limited. Targeting such growing regions is usually easier.

Within East Asia & Pacific, the countries with the highest volume of imports in 2016 are Hong Kong, Japan, Australia and China. Australia and China have strong year over year import growth as well. In addition, South Korea, the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia and Thailand also have high growth in imports making them great targets for expansion.

Within Europe & East Asia, the countries with the highest volume of imports in 2016 are Netherlands, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Spain, Italy and Poland. Most of these countries have limited growth with the exception of Germany, France and Italy. In addition, Denmark, Czech Republic, Romania, Greece, Portugal, Hungary, Bulgaria and Croatia have high growth in imports although limited volume.

Within Latin America & Caribbean, the countries with the highest volume of imports in 2016 are Mexico, Argentia, Chile, Peru, Paraguay, Colombia and Panama. Import growth in these countries has also been negative with the exception of Mexico. In addition, Costa Rica, Guatelmala and Dominican Republic have all been posting high growth in imports as well.

Within the Middle East & North Africa, the countries with the highest volume of imports in 2016 are the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Israel and Kuwait. All of these countries have strong growth in imports as well. In addition, Morocco, Malta, Bahrain and Oman have had high growth in imports although limited volume.

Within North America, the countries with the highest volume of imports in 2016 are the United States and Canada. Both however have had negative year over year import growth.

Within South Asia, the countries with the highest volume of imports in 2016 are India and Pakistan. Pakistan has had quite strong year over year growth in imports as well.
